Initial report is smoke inhalation, not "blown up."

Why is this apology nonsense still being posted?

    Sure.

But, as far as whether or not it was an Embassy, if it's where he spends the majority of his time, the security would be at it's highest levels there, and would be set up ahead of time.

It's not like he was in some unknown place, where security procedures weren't already in place.

Asking practical questions about what happened and how isn't really any kind of an apology.

Yes. I'd like to know the answer to this question.

One report I read said his security "retreated". Does that mean they tried to retreat with the Ambassador, or does it mean they abandoned him?

Do we know any of the answers to this? Even if he was surrounded by an armored column, he still could have been killed. The only way it would matter is if his security was lax, for whatever reason.

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough what the exact circumstances were.

I'd think the word 'retreat' refers to getting the ambassador to a safer location in the face of being outmanned or outgunned, but we'll see.

I highly doubt they abandoned the ambassador.

Why is it so very important to find and place blame on people other than the handful of thugs who actually killed these folks?

Actually, it appears people aren't trying to place blame but rather justify the actions of the attackers.

I mean, look at the way the consulate was dressed. It was asking for it...

This is the "Embassy" running thread. I think that you are looking for the "Consulate" thread to discuss Benghazi.
