The cast comes off tomorrow

So get this ... I went in Monday to get the pins removed. No problem. Go to physio yesterday and the PT removes the stitches on the incision wound.

This morning, I get up and remove the splint so I can shower. There is a piece of metal protuding from my hand, just above the incision line.

I called my surgeon's office and am told to come in tomorrow morning as he must not have gotten all the pins out.

Don't you think the guy with the medical degree who put the pins in should know how many to take out?

Dislocated thumb with torn ligaments ... executed while sliding into two ...

Isn't that some players hold their batting gloves in their hands while running?

And most importantly, were ya safe or out?

 

Thumb injuries suck. I injured mine when I blacked out while skiing in college (lesson: don't go over a jump on your first-ever skiing trip) and it's never been the same. Now it goes numb when I get cold.
