    She forgot:
Exhibit F: The HS state swimming finals. Exhibit G: The opening days of HS track and HS tennis. Exhibit H: Little League!!!
At least sportswriting is still better than pest control. :p

    * - Assuming you can find a job.
** - Salary projected over 12 months, assuming you won't be laid off in that span.

Aw, cut her some slack, guys. At least she's saying something positive about our profession rather than the constant litany of gloom and doom that usually pervades this site.

    She's right, though.

I'd rather cover tennis on a gorgeous spring day than freeze outside at a 9-man football game or die of heat stroke in the summer.

That said, in 12 years as sports writer I never covered any of the five things she lists, nor did my wage touch the one she quotes (likely an average, but still). Unrealistic expectations, anyone? Maybe mine were (silly me for thinking I'd move up the chain for doing great work and working hard), but hers definitely are.

I love covering spring sports, too bad I'm stuck in the office all day.

Anyone else notice in the jobs she mentioned, seven pay less than 40K, four pay less than 30 and three pay less than 25K.
But it's nice that she thinks those jobs are cool. Hope she tries living on one of those cool jobs at those wages.... f-tard...
