    I could have sworn the first time I saw it, in seventh grade, it was in b/w. But maybe it was just before they revamped it with the super bright colors that Turner did to it.
     
  2. The "super bright colors" were a result of the early three strip Technicolor process in use at the time.

    When I was in school, I remember hearing that TNT was going in and recoloring the pixels in a bunch of movies, including GWTW.



    Edit: in retrospect, I'm retarded. However, I do remember having heard that, as well as I remember the scene where Scarlett pinches her cheeks before going to talk to Ashley..and they blush instantly and oddly. Not naturally. So I figured that was the color adding.

    All I know is the DVD version I have. Leave me alone!
