Sorry, that last Boy Meets World post was not an endorsement of it, but me saying I've never seen it.

Happy Days doesn't measure up to Saved By The Bell!?!

Good gosh, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or The Cosby Show should be on there before Saved By The Bell.

I'm actually currently watching Buffy for the first time. I'm a few eps into season five. While it's good, I don't think it's in the same class as FNL. FNL is probably my second favorite drama behind The Wire and has my favorite cast of characters of any show ever. The football stuff wasn't always all that well-done, but the characters were so good that I was fine overlooking that. I did vote Buffy as my second choice because of the longevity, but it lacks the moments of greatness that FNL seemed to have just about every episode (save for much of season two).

Welcome Back Kotter was the first thing that came to mind for me.

And how someone can not recognize the writing genius contained in "up your nose with a rubber hose" is beyond me....

Saved By the Bell is only on there because of its popularity on this site.

The Cosby Show is in no way a show about high school life. Fresh Prince maybe, but again, I think I remember about three scenes in high school for Will.

Let's say for inclusion on this list, you need to actually take place at some point in high school. You can't be primarily a family show which happens to have a high school kid in it.

You really need to add Room 222 and The White Shadow to poll.

Indeed. Only better detective show was Terriers.

Wow, lots of good choices. Even though I love FNL, I went with 90210 because it was the defining HS show during my HS years, and Freaks and Geeks because that's the one that rang most true to real life for me.

I definitely enjoyed Degrassi's high school years (original series, not the Next Generation).

White Shadow is a great call.

Ok, I've added The White Shadow to the poll because of popular demand. But again, I'd like someone to write up a paragraph arguing on why they believe it's worthy of inclusion. Bill Simmons, if you're out there, I welcome your submission.

I'm currently writing up the case for the others on the list.
