Any list without Freaks and Geeks lacks a scintilla of legitimacy

Freaks and Geeks (even though it was only on the air until March 2000)
    30 Rock
    The Office (Both versions)
    Spaced

even though i am among its legion of devotees with superior taste it is difficult to put "freaks" on a list of best tv shows this decade when it lasted only three months into said decade.

Or people didn't identify with it. One or the other.

Well we know it didn't last beyond March 2000 b/c the fucking idiots at NBC didn't identify with it.

Without at least 2-3 additional years to see if it sustained, you can't make a judgment on Freaks and Geeks as a top 10. Joe Charbonneau wasn't one of the 1980s' top-10 players.

Looking at these lists, all I can say is that we live in a blessed age for television.

I don't see the love for Prison Break. It was a unique concept for a season, and critics loved it. Then they had to find ways to stretch the concept in an SNL recurring character way, way beyond its natural parameters, and critics generally racked it.

I agree. I enjoyed the first couple of seasons, actually, but the last season was unwatchable. I could probably find a better show for my list, but that was what came to mind. Don't want to exert too much effort here.

    The Office
    30 Rock
    Scrubs
Gilmore Girls (Maybe the most underrated show at the time)
    Rescue Me
    The Shield
    Mad Men
    How I Met Your Mother
    Friday Night Lights

Also, West Wing and Sopranos despite starting in 1999.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a show I really love.
