Not unless it comes back. If I'm not mistaken, Siskel's family and Ebert own the rights to it and I'm guessing the show doesn't want to pay for the rights.

So we could see the end of "two thumbs up" in regards to movie reviews?
That makes me sad. I used to like telling my friends a movie got two thumbs up, or down. It was a simple way to describe what critics thought of it in general.

The first newspaper writer I idolized as a kid.

Glad he's still writing. Won't be watching the show anymore.

As far as I was concerned, they should have shut the show down when Gene Siskel died.
You could never equal the level of intelligence, humor and level of interaction those two had together.

Was Roeper bad? Not at all, but you knew whomever followed Siskel would have to live up to that same level and he never could.

My high school senior project was on the impact of Siskel & Ebert on the movie industry.

I just can't imagine seeing "See it!!!" across the top of a movie poster.

    From the link:

"The trademark still belongs to me and Marlene Iglitzen, Gene's widow, and the thumbs will return. We are discussing possibilities, and plan to continue the show's tradition."

Roger's been keeping himself busy writing a biography due out in October:

Ebert is the gold standard of movie review. More of him in any capacity is great.
