Yeah, srsly. This wouldn't be bad if you were on a one-man staff and got some boxes from local coaches sent to you, or something. You'd just have to fix it up so it didn't sound so stupid every night.

    That's actually a good question.
No, heights aren't in the box score ... BUT when setting up the program for each team in each sport, it appears you can type in things like grade level, height, etc.
I can see the program as a help for things like compiling data, but not for actual writing.

Just wait, this will be the industry standard feeding news via virtual anchors to video kiosks all over the place in ten years.

    And no one will care.

Peter Pumpkineater, charged with burglary last week, had four steals.

Tell that to the suits. They'll look at this, go "hey, more money for my Escalade!" and order it.

This looks like one of those solutions in search of a problem kinda things.

  11. Wouldn't it be easier to create an editor-tron?

I suppose when robots become commonplace, they will take the place of human reporters at games. The suits will love it because instead of paying wages, all they have to do is buy some oil.

The robot, though will have to be programmed to deal with T-ball parents.
