Letting people know The Athletic is free for 90 days but after the trial ends, you are billed $59.99 for a one-year subscription. To get the 90 free days, you have to give PayPal information. http://theathletic.com/free90days

Hard pass. Also, with no sports happening, what's the point of reading The Athletic?

You can get the "deep dives" on stories about retired managers, trainers, old jersey colors and other hearting subjects you wouldn't know about with the games going on.

Who knew that life as a footballer's mum would be so challenging?

I'm a subscriber to VSiN's premium sports betting coverage (yes, this makes me a premium degenerate) and when all the major pro sports stopped, they extended subscriptions by two months. I was impressed.

Ok then Einstein why don’t they just have you fill out credit card info like every other company?

Or ... why don't they give you options like every company?

I noticed you didn’t answer my question! Hmm maybe I’m right?

    Sure I did.

There are hundreds of companies, probably thousands, that accept PayPal.

    Why shouldn’t The Athletic?
