    It also said that many of those who took the pledge (and failed) will later disavow ever having taken it in the first place.

    One of my friends from high school was telling me that his brother proudly showed him his daughter's "virginity pledge ring" about two years ago, when the girl was 15.

    A few days before Christmas, the same girl gave birth to her first child. She'll be a senior in high school in September.

    Kids make these promises publicly at the behest of their socially conservative parents.
    Another reason why the knocking up of the Bristol Palins of the world is sadly inevitable.
    C'mon, you really think the Jonas Brothers turn down all that opportunity?
