    There are probably still a couple around. I remember reading about a balck veteran of WWI who died recently - he was over 100. There are always some kids who lie about their age to get into the arms. That used to be easier to do - today there are more school records and better checks. The last known Civil War veteran who died was in 1959 - I think he joined the Confederate Army when he was 12 and lived to be over 100.
