I apologize for nearly getting this important thread locked. I was just trying to be a wise ass and play off the silliness that took place on that discussion thread about global warming.

It was not my intention to start a flame war on here - just lighten the mood a little -- because I know this is an important discussion people want to have.

Again, I was just trying to carry over some of the ridiculousness from the other thread but this is a mostly serious subject and I meant no disrespect.

So please, forgive my interruption and carry on.

    Thanks

Big, big hail hitting now. It is setting car alarms off in front of our office and there are 70 mph winds associated with this fucker. Pretty scary shit.

Come on dude, this is West Texas. The only hills are the dirt mounds at construction sites.

That part of Texas is pretty flat. No such thing as a hill to head for.

    EDIT: Damnit, Angola!

We're supposed to get another foot of snow in the next 48 hours.

    Trade ya?

In all seriousness, be safe all you folks in the storm's path. I wouldn't wish tornadoes on anyone.

All the more reason to head for the hills.

I'll stick with the warm weather.

Wish I had a basement though.

To give you an idea of how flat (and treeless) that part of the world is:

You can sit in the pressbox at Odessa's Ratliff Stadium and see the lights of Midland's Grande Communications Stadium about 15 miles away.

No basements down here. We've got about six inches of topsoil then rock.
