I want winning for the cop to be defined as something other than a dead suspect. You know, due process and all.

Sounds great. All the suspect has to do is put down the gun, get on the ground himself and put his hands behind his back and he gets his due process. It's not that difficult to do. Everybody wins. Only, what happens when the suspect is not on board with that?

Protest the gang that he is affiliated. March outside his apartment. Harass his fellow gang members. See them on the street dealing drugs, have 20 people call the police simultaneously. Be armed as well. Let it be known that gang activity is not tolerated in your neighborhood.

A lot of criminals could learn from Rick Perry and how he turned himself in.

Depends on the weapons, number of police present, and the exact situation in general.

Given how many of your solutions in this thread will only result in getting more people shot, I'm going to have to assume you are sexually aroused by the idea. It's the only logical explanation.

Yes, really. Look at the vigilante groups of regular citizens in Mexico that are fighting the drug cartels who were dominating their neighborhoods with violence because the police were either too afraid, too incompetent or too corrupt to help them. The vigilante groups got so fed up with their family members being placed in danger or killed, they started taking matters in their own hands. And it's working.

Hell it is. Are you putting value on lives here? Outing alert. Snark is Al Sharpton.

You're advocating vigilante justice because police are corrupt or incompetent, while at the same time saying that "suspects" should willingly subjugate themselves to the same corrupt, incompetent police and if they don't, it's their own fault if they get killed because they must be criminals because the cops said so.

Does that about sum it up?

Nope. They wouldn't be incompetent or corrupt if they were working in safe areas. Cause and effect. Less crime means less stress, which means less opportunities for the police to screw up and less temptation to be corrupt.
