Augie Garrido suspended with pay after being booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.

 

Isn't he like 80 now?

 

This is a stunner, a real big stunner, with college baseball starting in about two months. I will be interested to see how UT will handle this while he's suspended.

This will hit the 'Horns baseball team really hard.

 

With pay!?!

 

I'm curious as to how Augie is with the media generally. I've dealt with him several times and he was wonderful when Texas won and a prick when Texas lost.

Practice starts in about 10 days.

Augie has a huge ego. To some extent, he's earned it. But his team's conduct after it lost to Fullerton in 2004 was inexcusable and he must assume a large portion of that blame.

 

There's gotta be a better word for that than "suspension."

Let's use "vacation."

 

Maybe that stops if he's convicted.

 

He's 69 ... but that's a hard 69.
