Tetley's - ? for UK guys

    I just read that the Tetley's brewery closed in June 2011. :'(
    I hope they haven't stopped making it. I have fond memories of Tetley's being good beer when I was England.

    Oops, thought you were referring to the tea people.

    Tetley makes tea bags make tea...

    Tetley tea and Tetley beer are owned by two different companies. The beer company is owned by Carlsberg and the tea company is owned by Tata Group out of India. I have no idea if the two originated with the same Tetley.

    Me, too ... I've been to London maybe 5 times and never heard of or tasted Tetley beer.

    My guess is Tetley's isn't popular in London because, when I was there, brands were WAY more regional than they are here. I remember being in Liverpool and asking for a Newcastle and was told in more than one place they didn't carry it because it was a northeast beer. I thought, "heck, I can get draft Newcastle in East Tennessee."
