Warning alarm to all those teams that refuse to spend any money.

You will not find quality GM's that will work on shoe string budgets starting now.

While I don't agree with a salary cap for baseball there should be a salary floor for teams like the Marlins who are raking in MLB money.

The A's have said they are willing to spend money on re-signing some of their quality players if Beane feels they would be worth it. They also will be increasing payroll significantly when the move into their new home.

I knew Ryan when he as a scout in the Met system about 30 yrs ago. He was sharp as a tack when it came to baseball talent and it was no shock when he became Twins Scouting Director or eventually GM.

I am surprised he sat in the GM seat for 12 years. Longer than I expected. Guy is a scout at heart. Never married back then, still probably single. Guy knows the game. Really knows it.

Ryan's married and has been for years.

Other than that, you're dead on. Great evaluator of talent.

How many World Series have the A's won during Beane's tenure as GM?
How many World Series have the A's played in during Beane's tenure as GM?

Hint: The answer to both questions is the same... less than 1.

How is Carl Pohlad still alive? He's got to be well beyond Logan's Run cubed by now.

He's holding on out of spite toward Twins fans everywhere.

    I genuinely believe that.

I'm surprised God hasn't contracted him yet.

If God would make a decent financial offer, he could contract Pohlad right now.

The worst owner in all of baseball.

Angels' Bill Stoneman should be in there somewhere. He was hired before the 2000 season, a few weeks before Mike Scioscia came on board.
