Mr. Nagai is holding a camera. Wonder what the last few pics were.

God I hope he didn't leave his lens cap on.

Here's a Guardian story about Mr. Nagai's death, and the Japanese government's demand for answers. There's also a video of the incident, which bears a warning and is apparently quite graphic. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it. I send heartbroken condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of yet another fallen colleague. Shit.

It took me a bit to notice the shooting on the video, but it's there. It's a far away shot, but it's there.

    R.I.P. Kenji Nagai.

Considering the video shows him getting capped in the back of the head by a guy standing a no more than a fucking foot away from him, my guess is not much.

I didn't mean it as a smart-ass question, if it's being read that way.

I'm guessing that when his effects are returned to his family by the powers that be in Mynamar the memory card will be empty.

Split the Pulitzer between the guy who got shot and the guy who took the picture of the guy getting shot.

    RIP. Absolutely awful.

  11. Re: And THAT's how you take a photo

And I didn't mean the thread title to be a joke about Nagai taking a photo in his last moments. I didn't realize the object to which he was clinging was his camera; was simply attempting to praise the Reuters shot.

Regardless, should have been more sensitive.

Here's a better (worse) video of the killing.
