I don't buy that any human has ever run faster than a 4.25, that is simply blazing.

How many world-class sprinters make $3 million a year, which is less than what most No. 2 receivers make?

    Five?

    10?

Having 4.3 ability does not automatically mean you have the potential to be a world class sprinter. Some incredible 40 guys are built ONLY for great starts out of the block but don't have the stride to maintain that advantage for 100 or 200 meters, they'd always get run down in the second half by any world class sprinter. Some of those short burst specialists are definitely built better for football.

But that would not apply to a long striding guy like Pryor, however. The start is usually the hardest part for tall sprinters. Even the greatest taller sprinters, like Lewis and Bolt, were usually weakest out of the gate but made up for it down the stretch once that amazing stride kicked in. If a guy standing over 6'6" like Pryor actually could get a 4.3 start then I'd think he could become unimaginably good on the track. But I don't believe anyone that tall has had 4.3 starting ability and I'm not buying that Pryor does either.

I guess you guys haven't heard of the National Sprinters Association, which has franchises in 30 cities and track meets every Sunday and Monday.

The last four league titles have been won by the Birmingham Human Lightning Bolts.

Wind also is a factor in these times. I'm sure when these guys get timed, they are running with the wind. It might seem like a minor factor, but world records are not recognized in races where the wind is blowing beyond a certeain speed in favor of runners, so it probably has more of an effect on the time than you'd think.

It'd take one helluva wind gust to take a 4.25 and turn it into a 4.06.

Today at team picture day in Columbus Boom Herron, Brandon Saine and Tressel said the 4.33 was legit. Said it was timed electronically. Herron: "The lasers don't lie."

I guess we'll have to wait a couple years to find out, but I suspect the lasers at his combine will tell a different story. At least that's how it always seems to work.

It does add some credibility if it was electronically timed, but there's still something about that home turf that always seems to make guys time faster than they can anywhere else.

Do you think they are crazy enough to run the dash 39 yards and not 40?

    That would be completely insane.

    What does that even mean?
