And not surprisingly there's been backlash against this. . There are a number of restaurants where'll they just say, "No you cannot substitute this for this and no, the chef will not make you something today that was a special yesterday. This is not your mother's house and the dishes on the menu are not suggestions"

As a pretty big Monty Python fan, that is a most disturbing thing I think I have ever seen on the web....aside from Two Girls, One Cup.

Yelling at the server. Well, unless they are realllllly terrible and it's not just your own irritation / being in a bad mood.

Ten nails it for me. I remember having a dinner with my ex-wife prior to when we were married and some rich relatives of theirs in San Antonio. Four of them, two of us. They were ordering multiple drinks, an appetizer, salad, and entree. Me? I could have stopped at the salad....never have I eaten so much. They had $10 drinks. And when the bill came, it was split. Oh and the thought was from my ex-wife, they wanted to treat us since it was my birthday.

Fuckers. And I'm long gone from her too.

Kids in the restaurant should be number one.

My uncle had a kid who would never behave in any public dining situation. When we as a family went to visit, he would always wanna go out to the fancy places with a little 4-year-old brat. It got to the point that we had to stop at McDonalds on the way home because the little kid hated everything at these places.

I have a friend who has altered every meal we've eaten together.
It's usually minor stuff like salad dressing on the side and slaw instead of fries.
I find it more amusing than annoying, but then, she lives out of state and we only dine together every year or so.

The only alterations I ever make is to leave stuff off the dish that I don't like and won't eat.

If leaving the tomato off a burger is too much work for the restaurant, then they can dispose of my slimy tomato when they bus the table.

I had a boss for a short time who was a complete and total asshole. One of my first clues was when we went out to lunch during his first week. Yes, he yelled at the server. As far as I was concerned, the poor server had done NOTHING wrong, but the asshole thought the server wasn't being attentive enough. By the end of the meal, after he had been fuming and complaining to me. as the server passed, he yelled - not just raised his voice - "We have been waiting forever for the check! Do you want us to leave without paying?" I wanted to crawl under the table. It was a miserable 6 months at work before the asshole got (of course) a promotion and was no longer my boss. It was a happy day about 18 months later when he got a pink slip (2 days before Christmas! And he got escorted from the building!).

I'm okay with blowing my nose, but I would never blow my nose on a linen napkin. I'd use a paper towel from the ladies room if I really had to.

I'm bad at tips. Dr. J and I always usually ask beforehand to split the bill, but someone usually has to tell me what to tip. Math is not my thing.
