    WI...

how about "Smile" by Pearl Jam....

    "Smile"

    don't it make you smile?
    don't it make you smile?
when the sun don't shine? (shine at all)
    don't it make you smile?
    don't it make you smile?
    don't it make me smile?
when the sun don't shine, it don't shine at all
    don't it make me smile?
i miss you already... i miss you always
i miss you already... i miss you all day
    this is how i feel...
i miss you already... i miss you always
three crooked hearts and swirls all around... i miss you all day

Great story about that song, Ashy.

At a PJ show some years back. To the best of my knowledge, there are only two PJ songs with the harmonica -- Smile and Footsteps.

Eddie walks out with the harmonica, and my area all starts screaming "Smile!"

Group below us starts yelling "Footsteps!"

We go back and forth for a bit, but my group won in the end. They played Smile.

It's also one of the only PJ songs that Eddie did not write the lyrics to.

I'll toss up Don Henley's Heart of the Matter as a good one. The cover by India Arie is good too.

I didn't realize he didn't write the lyrics to "Smile".....thats a good bit of trivia I'm adding to my useless knowledge bank. :)

I was at a fund raiser last week for a friend that died of cancer in December. They showed a 20 minute video/slideshow and played "Smile"......pretty tough holding it together at that point.
