Hmm, if league (and quality of pitching in said league) doesn't matter, he's just 753 from tying Hank Aaron.

Danny Ainge had two in the big leagues. Let's see him match that.

God's QB/RF promoted to High A St Lucie, which, unlike Columbia, is owned by Mets. Hence merchandise sales benefit Mets.
The Chosen One and his .222 average now move up a step in competition. Pretty impressive to have survived embarrassment so far given 10 years away. But promotion ? Not about merit. About an organization desperate for attention and appeasing the SEC fan base of its low minors markets. The Clay Travis Plan for player development.

Surely not even the Mets are making decisions based on clearing an extra couple of thousand in minor league swag, right?

It's like you haven't even been following the Mets modus operandi for the past couple of years. :) Admittedly, I haven't either, but still. Their reputation the past couple years has been that they're cheapos following the Madoff thing. They've shelled out to re-sign some guys, so that's probably a bit exaggerated, but plenty of weird fucking stories have come out from that team lately.

There's always a caution not to pay too much attention to minor league numbers -- especially power, which your typical low A youngster can develop over time -- but yeah given his age I can't see much baseball reason to promote a guy slugging around .300.

How bad does it look if the Port St. Lucie Mets outdraw the Miami Marlins during the rest of the season?

Isn't St. Lucie mostly Northeastern retirees who never gave a damn about college football to begin with?

Never mind the fact that Jordan played at Double-A.
