Teacher's porn star past

Now, none of that is porn, per se, but probably not the sort of thing that a teacher should be following on his twitter. I haven't told anybody about this, because I'd hate to see the guy get in trouble for this sort of thing. He seems like a really cool, normal, good teacher.

It's also possible that he doesn't get twitter. He's only following 10 accounts. Sometimes these spam things follow you just in hopes that you'll follow them back.

 

I would keep it to yourself.

But if has students following him on twitter, I would give him a quick heads up as a fellow guy to let him know what his students could be seeing.

 

When I was in junior high a zillion years ago there was rumor my English teacher had posed for Playboy. She was an attractive woman and being hormone driven little boogers we immediately clung to this rumor. She caught wind that we had heard of it and was crying her eyes out when she was trying to defending herself in class one day saying that it had started as a joke with one of the male teachers.
I felt bad for her because outside of the fact I liked staring at her and fantasizing she was a very good teacher. I think she quit/moved by the time I hit high school.

 

From a moral standpoint, the fact that she appeared in some porn flicks 20 years ago shouldn't make a difference in her ability to teach. As such, I wouldn't have any problem with her as a teacher.

But, from a practical standpoint, it shoots down a lot of her credibility with her students and undermines a lot of her authority in the classroom. So for that reason it would probably be hard for her to be an effective teacher, and that's the concern I would have.

If she can, she might want to consider doing what it takes to teach at a higher level, maybe at a community college, where she's teaching adults rather than kids.

 

I agree with that. I don't think anyone would have a problem with her teaching community college.

If Myers didn't consider profiting from it since leaving the porn business, then it's probably likely she isn't going to do it now.

Not surprising that it's Arkansas and Missouri who'll fire anyone for anything, even if it's stealing candy from 20+ years ago.

I think this is one of those emotion things that robots just don't get.

How the hell would kids respect and take her seriously knowing her past? I'm not saying it's right but let's not kid ourselves and think this would not be a huge issue. Especially after the students have watched her in action.

 

Exactly. And in this day and age, it would be a virtual guarantee that every guy in every class she had would have seen the footage.

If this had happened when I was in high school it would have taken forever for the VHS tape to be passed around, or someone would have accidentally taped the original 90210 over it.

 

Really, because I couldn't find it.
