Does not appear to be a d_b, and, while not quite one for the Poin files, does bring new meaning to "show and tell"

To me, the only thing that matters is whether or not she's a good teacher.

Anything she's done in the past, as long as it's not a serious criminal offence, should be left in the past.

  3. I don't know. Obviously, what she did wasn't criminal, but even she understands the problems associated with someone of her past teaching kids. Would I have a problem with it? No . . . but I can certainly see the problems that comes with it, and the fact that, once word gets around (which it is), the problems it could cause with interfearing with the learning process, right or wrong. I don't think the school had any choice in the matter.

  4. Is that a blog you linked? 'Cause its wrong.
She wasn't fired. She resigned, asking to be placed on administrative leave until the end of the year.

It's sad. I feel for the lady.

  5. I didn't read anything about her being fired. Just said she lost her job. Of course, it didn't explain that it was her who asked to be placed on administrative leave either, so maybe a half-truth?

It's a tough case, because it seems clear that she has moved on from her past and doesn't seem to ever want to go back to it, plus it seems pretty clear that she has a passion (no pun intended) for teaching since this is the second time she has gone through this after a teaching gig. Since she keeps going back to teaching, and I can't imagine she gets paid a ton to do it, I would have to think she loves her job, which is all anyone could ask for out of a teacher, caring about her job and the kids.

In many districts there is a morality clause in their contracts.

When you do porn, you need to realize that there are certain jobs you will not be able to do once the "career" ends.

This would affect the learning environment in a negative way.

I, for one, wish more of my kids' teachers had been former porn stars....as long as they're good teachers, of course.

I agree with this. If she resigned, I'm assuming she did it before they could fire her.

I'm not saying she's a bad person, but sometimes there have to be consequences for actions. If you can go out on the net and find video of your teacher getting nailed, that's a problem.

Hope the kid who was surfing for porn got grounded or something. Anyhoo, this is another example of our skewed priorities; seems as if a murderer would have a better chance getting on with his life. If she can teach, so what? Would this be any kind of a deal if she were a college teacher?

And is this enough of a corallary to the Poin style of thread to declare "pics or GTFO"?

I think if you have been convicted of a violent crime or selling drugs, you have a very hard time getting a job in schools as well.

I think this is something we're going to see a lot of in the coming years, maybe not to this extreme, but there will be a lot of finding out that there is Girls Gone Wild or random internet footage of the 3rd grade teacher and stuff to that extent, which is just a result of everybody having cameras that weren't there when most of us were growing up.

It will probably even exceed tattoo regret in the coming decades. Women in naked videos are so ubiquitous that we'll probably end up with a nuclear physicist or a Congresswoman found to have been in one.
