This morning I have the hardest test I'll ever take in my aviation career, my first check ride. An hour-long oral grilling (insert joke here) and then a flight portion in which I have to demonstrate proficiency in several maneuvers. I've had my share of struggles through this first phase of flight school, and this puppy ain't gonna be easy.

So, if you're out of bed before 0700, throw some good mojo my way.

I need all the help I can get.

It's still yesterday for me, so my mojo might be a little stale, but it's all yours.

Dude, you wouldn't have made it this far if you couldn't do it. You'll be fine.

As much mojo as I could muster just got sent your way. Look forward to the 10 a.m. check-in.

We're counting on you, TBF. You're basically our only hope of extending SportsJournalists.com into the skies. When do they begin teaching you stunts and tricks?

  11. Take a couple of deep breaths and relax.

Keep the dirty side down, and you'll be fine.
