    This is what I think happened. Someone ordered the pie, took a bite, didn't like it, and brought it back to the counter. Instead of throwing it away, the counter person put it back in the hopper probably because they are constantly getting lectured about food cost and waste. Never thought to look and see if it had been eaten.

    That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
