    Coats and Palmer look even more stupid, given the recent moves that haven't rendered either particularly brilliant.

    Being idiotic enough to start a fight like this earns them every nasty word and extra pair of eyes that might grace the St. Pete Times as a result.

    The local paper had its annual, "our future is bright" column today, the latest result of in-house meetings about where the paper needs to focus its resources and increasing amounts of comments about the paper not being what it used to be. I wasn't encouraged.

    Readers don't care about the size of a newspaper.

    It's all about how they use those column inches.
