TAM A320 crash in Brazil

    Hadn't seen a thread on here about it, but obviously a very tragic scene in Sao Paolo.

    If the AP story is to be believed, this may be the event that forces the Brazilian government into much needed air traffic reform - though it's weird that this was a situation that didn't seem to involve any sort of lack of basic infrastructure. (I mean like radar and competent ATC, not the crumbled concrete to stop out of control aircraft.)

    That latest AP story also makes reference to speed; it's hard to believe any sort of professional pilot would take any sort of chances at such a high speed on a rain-soaked, very short runway.
