As for the 7 years of car maintenance, 3-4 oil changes each 3,000 miles and about $300-400 per car every other year for the regular maintenance, plus tires every 30k-40k ($600 installed). That's a lot cheaper than car payments.

Let's just cut to the chase.

Will it help you get laid?

It would be cheaper to go to Columbia from what I've read.

Three or four oil changes each 3,000 miles? It's late in the day and I'm hoping I read that wrong.

Then, by all means, please, get a Jeep.

    With all our blessings.

You don't need to change your oil every 3,000 miles. It's wasteful and not needed.

Don't worry about any of this. Getting a car you like, just because you want to, doesn't have to be a mid-life crisis. It could be a mid-life celebration...of the fact that you've made it this far, of the fact that you can afford it, of your ability to personally do something for yourself that you want to do.

Done with full awareness and the right attitude, there is something to be said for doing something just because you can.

So, so true. I've got two old cars and change the oil every 5000-6000 miles. No problems.
