That's right. We're way too weak a nation to fight two third-world countries on separate fronts. WWII and the Pacific and European theatres just did us in.

Good point. Let's also raise taxes and reinstitute involuntary conscription, just like they did back then.

Hey, that's what made that generation great and this generation which purports to be great because a couple of buildings fell and for two days we were yelling USA, USA a joke.

Well, if W would have done that when we first attacked Afghanistan, instead of the usual mumbo-jumbo about freedom in Iraq, the Taliban might be history. Instead, we got those damn liberals want to raise taxes again, Mission Accomplished, and "You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you want or need."

And don't forget, the Taliban are the same idiots after Sept. 11 that said Osama had nothing to do with the attacks. When we asked them where he was, they were like, "we don't know, but we know he didn't do the attacks."

If they didn't know where he was, then how did they know he wasn't involved?

We bombed the shit out of them. Like cockroaches, they hid, then when it was safe, returned and assembled.

Let's see. Someone will find it dehumanizing to call the precious Taliban cockroaches. Alley and his siren should be heard from any time now.

I don't see what good it does to bitch about the past in this case. This news sucks. We have to do something about it.

We have to use what little money we have to dump into the education systems in places like this, to curb the recruiting.

As my uncle in Iraq said, "The educated kids don't hate us."

As an aside, the Taliban and other terrorists losing cell phone coverage at night would halt many of their nighttime bombs, too. Most of their road-side bombs are cell-phone activated ... my Uncle's been in two separate trucks that were damaged or destroyed by cell-activated bombs.

Yeah. And instead of having the troops on the ground to take care of them, we were dilly dallying in Iraq.

Because there was more money to be made off of the oil and no-bid Haliburton contracts in Iraq than there was in Afghanistan.

Like the Iranian hostages in 1980, he'll be dead when Bush leaves office.

I guess the Taliban hasn't learned yet that we have satellite phones that don't require cell towers.

By all means, shut off the towers at night. It will reduce the cell phone activated bombs.

No one has ever said that the Taliban are necessarily the brightest people in the world. Dangerous, yes. Smart, no.
