The reasoning sounds kind of arrogant, but there was far more interest in the daily Bears season than there would be in a Chicago-free Final Four and other national events. He'll need to get to typing when Soriano butchers a ball in the Ivy at Wrigley.

Absolutely. Here's hoping we won't find later this is health-related.

Mitchie counted his columns for the last year and found out he needs 20 more to meet his requirement of 25.

So he's going to follow Michigan's run to the Final Four this year. :D

Considering the star columnist is Eddie, this is a bad thing, how?

My sources say that the commissioner caught Jay gambling but announcing that would send shock waves through the industry so they cooked up this sabbatical.

He's gonna head to spring training in his downtime and tryout for the White Sox.

  9. I'd say the Trib's got a slamdunk argument on the ownership deal what with Black on his way to the sneezer for 100 years.
As to the other thing, am I missing something, or is Jay going to stop actually writing a column but portray himself as a columnist on television?
Does anyone else think this is weird?

  10. No. Skip Bayless has done it for years.
