There's a shocker. Almost as much as Tyrone Willingham's announcement that he wouldn't be back at Washington.

Syracuse being Syracuse, they'll hire someone like Wlat.

It is shocking. I'm shocked he lasted as long as he did into this season.

Does SU make a run at Turner Gill? Does he listen?

Syracuse fans hope he does. But I imagine Gill will get a look from a program that doesn't need as long to turn around.

Great call. Two names that would make really good sense are Turner Gill and Randy Edsel. Syracuse has turned into a joke, but there is enough of a tradition there and expectations are so low right now that it could be a great situation. I'd love to see Turner Gill take that job. How he has done what he has done at Buffalo is amazing. How do you recruit kids to go to Buffalo?!? Plus, there are few people as solid as Turner Gill coaching at that level.

I know he has SU ties but Randy Edsall is out of his fucking mind if he even thinks about taking this job as as long as that idiot AD is still there. They won't win until Gross is fired.

Yeah, there's probably going to be some domino-effect openings too, Clemson and Tennessee will probably try to snap coaches from midlevel BCS schools and there will undoubtedly be a few surprise firings/retirements too.

I doubt at this point Edsall would make the jump -- at this moment UConn is a much better job.
