Swine flu strikes the downsized newsroom (a fable)

    I'm sure what wasn't mentioned was the fact that a lot of places, including mine, have cut way back on sick days in the past several years. So yeah, I'm REAL likely to burn a bunch of sick days in April, knowing that if I get sick in October, it's like my own special furlough.

    Yes with sick days gone and all the pay cuts you won't see many "journalists" staying home with the swine flu. Great great post and great add about the one reporter not being able to cover it cause "he's on furlough." Priceless.
