Think this made national news even back before the Internet, but in Minnesota it's probably the most infamous unsolved crime in the state's history. Eleven-year-old Jacob Wetterling was abducted by a gunman in October 1989 while riding his bike. No arrests, never been found. Today a suspect was named, although the man has not been charged with this crime and reportedly denies having anything to do with it. They arrested him for child porn and have linked him to other assaults against boys in the area around the same time of Jacob's disappearance.

Was hoping this would be news that they had for sure found the guy. And they might have, but nothing ironclad so far. But he is, I believe, the first person ever publicly named as "person of interest."
