Yes. I'm not in on the Seahawks love. I think they slide back a step or two this fall.

Since Urlacher was almost as useless as Ray Lewis last year, I bet the Bears D will be fine.

Sort of like the Atlanta Braves in the 1990s, they have shown an ability to swap out interchangeable parts in many places on the roster without a major dropoff in performance. People fret over losing Wes Welker --- who should help Denver significantly --- but I'm betting the Pats develop a new guy to basically equal Welker's production. In New England, it's the system as much as the personnel.

Then make the case for them. Not sure why I should believe they're the best team in their own division, let alone have a chance of winning the NFC.

I think they win the division this year. A third year of Cam, plus those two defensive tackles they drafted, Armanti Edwards improving, LaFell stepping into his own, plus the always reliable Greg Olsen to go with Steve Smith. THis team can make noise.

ND, I hate to say the only noise they could make rhymes with "date and date."

Figure one wild card team advances to one of the conference championship games each year. Figure that the wild cards largely come down to one game here or there, and the schedule has a lot to do with it. Do you play the third or fourth place teams? What are your intra-conference and inter-conference teams? Are you a west coast team that has two or more EST games?

The AFC North should clean up on the AFC East. The AFC South and West are both top-heavy. As are the NFC South and West. NFC North and East should be evenly matched. Some decent interconference games w/ North v. North; AFC South v. NFC West, AFC East v. NFC South. AFC West v. NFC East could get ugly.

we're about due for another giants-patriots super bowl, aren't we? giants win again, of course...

now, back here on planet earth, it'll be the 49ers over the ravens in a rematch... 8) 8) 8)

Cam's the third best quarterback in his own division.

That's not relevant. Is Newton good enough to help the Panthers win? Evidence says yes.
