Fred Dean and Charles Haley. Technically Steve Young too, though for starting purposes of course he's more '90s.

The Broncos lost three Super Bowls with Elway before Terrell Davis and Sterling Sharpe came along, but it's kind of surprising that that 1980s Broncos team will have only 1 Hall of Famer, though Mecklenburg and Atwater have been finalists. If they'd won even one would those two be in?

EDIT: And what about six-time Pro Bowler and strong safety Dennis Smith?

Atwater played mostly in the '90s and was a stud in Elway's first SB win. I'm kind of surprised he's not in.

The Steelers had the better regular season, but the Patriots were the much better team in 2004. New England had some key players out for the regular-season meeting in Pittsburgh. You could see that the Steelers really weren't that much better during the regular-season game. It was just a few big breaks and things got out of hand.

True, but he was a starter in his rookie year when they got blown out 55-10 by the Redskins in the SB. Yeah, he had that cache as "hardest hitting player in football" for years. Ya notice the announcers don't throw that handle around anymore...

And maybe facemask penalties too, since the Saints' infractions were overlooked.

NFC is the home team this year, and Rams will be wearing throwback dark jerseys.

Patriots haven't worn the blue since last loss to the Giants.

White jerseys have won 12 of the past 14 SBs.

AFC hasn't worn white since SB48. Broncos (SB50) and Patriots (SB52) eschewed the dark jerseys when AFC was home team . . . and each won in white.

The Patriots didn't win SB52 in white, they won SB51 in white as the "road" team.

For some reason Carmichael is given a TE designation on a profootballreference.com search because he's listed as one for his rookie season.
