    Our shop, which dug deep into the well for our horribly bad headline on the Saints victory over Philadelphia, went deeper today:

    Peyton's Place?

    I'll bet nobody else thought of that one.

    That's what I said.

    The story is about him trying to find his place in NFL history by playing a Super Bowl against a tough Bears defense, and it describes the matchup. My suggestion, which was laughed off:

    Manning Up


    It's no award-winner, but I think it's better than the groaner we ran.

    Peyton's Place would probably be part of a fine headline for that story; unfortunately, its overuse (and in inapporpriate heds, no less) kill it dead.

    Galloping To His Destiny? Eh, fuck do I know, I can't even hack at a daily anymore, I'm afraid.
