But wait. As a governor, he has no right to publicly express his beliefs? Is he forcing policy here? No, and if he was, I could see where there would be a question.

Aw, it's my label for atheist groups, who the only time you hear from them is when they're pissing on the other side. I've never seen a "happy" atheist speak out on anything. Maybe there has been, I just haven't found it.

Not even remotely close to addressing the point. He's using his office to advocate a particular belief system. That's not supposed to happen.

No, he's using his office to run for president, no?

The quotation marks make it funny because atheists can't be happy.

Rather than mock you, I will instead suggest you read this when you have some time. It might widen your thinking.

Lost in the hullabaloo over the neo-atheists is a quieter and potentially more illuminating debate. It is taking place not between science and religion but within science itself, specifically among the scientists studying the evolution of religion. These scholars tend to agree on one point: that religious belief is an outgrowth of brain architecture that evolved during early human history.

Well, I think science and religion can co-exist; than one can believe in evolution and God.

An outgrowth of brain architecture in early human history? Well in simpler, primitive times, faith might have been an easier concept to grasp, to take root in a way to survive, than in today's sarcastic world full of distrust. Some scientists also have no problem in a beginning that a God set into motion...that every cause and effect had to originate with a cause.

Rick Perry no longer gives a damn about his constituents. He's playing to the lower elements of the GOP and the Tea Party, who eat this stuff up.

Well, those slime-sucking pit inhabitants shook up the mid-term elections didn't they?
