It’s always fun to bring that up with religious anti-aborts. Plus pointing out the inconsistency that if God loves innocent babies so much, why does he kill so many of them in the Bible.

Lol. There’s a good one. That’d be news to the baby leaping in Elizabeth’s womb at the sound of Mary’s voice.

Believe whatever you want to believe about when life begins. Your interpretation of scripture doesn’t seem to be your strong suit though.

If the opportunity came up, I’d be happy to.

Why don’t you take a crack at it?

Which leads to the point again about how there is inconsistency between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Or are there parts of the Bible we shouldn’t take literally?

And there’s the rub. My interpretation is as valid as anyone else’s. It’s a translation of a translation of a translation of 5000 years of oral history. And yes, the biblical beginning of life is breath.

Neat. You seem like a big fan of the book.

How much of the NT have you read?

Talking snakes, mass murder and deceitful behavior on the part of the protagonist, can’t say I find a character worth rooting for. God is an asshole in the original bible. And an absentee father is the sequel.

Not much because my religion doesn’t follow it. Does it supersede the OT?
