Talented musicians aren't immune from making bad music. Just like talent isn't required for making great rock music.

Some YR trivia. Lots of Pages in the rotation.

The leader singer for Pages is the lead singer from Mr. Mister, six years later.

England Dan and John Ford Coley and Dan Fogelberg (RIP) and Nicolette Larson - one of the few sure-fire female members of the genre.

Boz Scaggs is much more blues and soul than yacht rock. And Lowdown is a classic blues song.

One of my favorites from Loggins and Messina, "Vahevala," seems to be in heavy rotation on SXM 70.

First time I ever heard the term was the awesomely silly Yacht Rock Channel 101 spoof. RIP, Koko.

If I'm on a boat - these two are on the playlist.

And perhaps the most cheezetastic example of '70s music of all time. I really don't know what I like more, the "now" section of these oldsters rocking out to their one hit, the dude with shirt down to his navel rocking the xylophone like he's EVH or the "then" part with the guy's hat and 'stache.

    Barry White is disco.
Mangione was the godfather of smooth jazz.
Not sure either qualifies for Yacht Rock.

    Barry? No.
Mangione. Some - Feels So Good, Hide n Seek - yes.

Didn't say it was yacht rock - just said it's being played if I'm on a boat.
