    Of course, the Chechnyans usually fall all over themselves to take credit for such things. And as journalists, we're never supposed to assume.

    The McVeigh thing is the reddest of red herrings. The point is not that white people can be terrorists, too, tho McVeigh did shine a spotlight upon some unsavory groups, but that we shouldn't paint all Muslims with the terrorist brush, tho I'm sure there is a sizable element of society that would like to set up some Manzanars, complete with mosques, to be humane and all.

    Yes, but a lot of "journalists" did assume things about Loughner: such as Paul Krugman.
