Sugar Bowl question -- assuming Florida goes to Glendale

Would Sugar Bowl officials need (or look) to replace the Gators with another SEC team? If so, while LSU is rated higher and actually beat Arkansas, wouldn't the bowl execs want to pick a replacement team that would actually fill hotel rooms in New Orleans? LSU wouldn't necessarily do that.

Depends on the alternative on where LSU would go, I would think.
Sugar Bowl would get no cooperation if LSU heads to the SEC 4th choice game...
To answer your unasked question, Louisville would be a good choice too...

If Notre Dame is still on the board, Notre Dame will get picked before Louisville. Doesn't matter if the Cards are better. Notre Dame brings the fans and the ratings.

I still think Louisville goes to Miami.

I think Louisville brings a ton of fans since it means going to a MAJOR bowl... but since TV drives all... have fun in South Beach

Assuming Fla. is in BCS championship game, I figure it this way:

    Louisville-Wake in Orange Bowl.
    ND-LSU in Sugar Bowl.
    USC-Michigan in Rose Bowl
    Oklahoma-Boise in Fiesta

Trust me: The Sugar Bowl will not pass on a chance to have LSU-Notre Dame.

And assuming Michigan is in BCS game
    LSu-USC in Rose
    ND- Fla in Sugar...
Spnited's Fiesta and Orange selections are the same

I agree Slappy if Michigan is in BCS Championship

Same. If Michigan gets bypassed, it will be Notre Dame-LSU in the Sugar.

Rose gets the first pick by losing the No. 1 team. Sugar gets the second pick by losing the No. 2 team, if it's Florida.

I'm with you. And all four of those are interesting match-ups despite what the guy from Cleveland thinks. But what's he know about quality football anyway? He's a Browns fan. :D
