Style question

    When you talk about a tie, do you say, "tied at 44" or "tied at 44-44?"

    Is "tied at 44" clear enough? Is "tied at 44-44" redundant?

    The "at" is redundant in the second one. Tied 44-44.

    correct. If the game is tied the other team also has the same score, so listing both scores is redundant.

    Does anyone know where the closest ATM machine is?

    Probably my biggest pet peeve in this industry is the stupid, retarded line, "tied 44-all"

    All? All refers to more than two things. Why the hell say "all" when there are just two teams playing!? Besides, 44-44 takes up less space.

    I can side with both BuckW and Mike311.
    Johnny Baller made a short jumper to tie the game at 44 with 30 seconds left in the third quarter.
    Johnny Baller made a short jumper to make the game 44-44 with 30 seconds left in the third quarter.
    We don't need: Johnny Baller made short jumper to tie the game at 44-44 with 30 seconds left in the third quarter.
