Stupid Grammar Question for the Editors

    If you have a bunch of grammar books, they'll disagree on lots of things. I usually defer to Theodore Bernstein, if he addresses it. He spends a bit more than a page on this in The Careful Writer, and the fast answer is sometimes yes, sometimes no, usually it's better to end with a preposition if the alternative is looking pompous.

    You don't have to go the full-Bernstein (Miss Thistlebottom's Hobgoblins, etc.), but if you're in the biz, you should have The Careful Writer. I've had my copy for more than 30 years.

    Internet: capitalized or no? As in "I found it on the internet. Or Internet. Whatever."

    Cap I feels like a style for someone who still uses dial up AOL.

    AP style is to capitalize Internet and Wi-Fi.
