It's the Delta terminal, which, I think, used to be the Pan-Am terminal.

Also ... Delta just officially passed the buck to the FAA.

Also ... If you happen to be in Vegas, there are a bunch of stupid fuckers from NY/NJ/CT heading your way.

At least I've got an airport seat now.

We've now been told Atlanta is to blame.

No reason why. Just blaming Atlanta apparently.

Yeah, Atlanta has a whole lot to do with the fierce storms that are moving through Metro NY right now.
    Pouring rain and scary lightning.

I'm guessing my sister, en route home from Dalllas via Atlanta, is gonna be sitting in Hartsfield for a while. Ain't nothing gonna take off or land at NYC area airports for a few hours, at least.

Flight from Atlanta is now scheduled in at 1 a.m. ET. Then we get to wait for the crew to turn the plane around for our flight.

Anyone have an idea how long it takes the crew to set up for the next flight?

If the plane from Atlanta lands by 1 a.m., you have a chance of being in the air by 2:30.

You're damn lucky to be getting those if they're blaming the FAA. Once they pass the buck like that, and they always do, they like to claim they're off the hook.

Here's what's going to happen. That flight will be about 15 minutes late arriving in NYC. It will pull up to the gate, all the passengers will get off.

The Delta groundcrew will do yeoman's work getting the plane unloaded, reloaded, cleaned and restocked.

You will board fairly quickly. Everyone's in a hurry to get home you know.

    The doors will close.

The jetway will be pulled back.

The plane will back up about five feet.

    The plane will stop.

You will sit there for about 10 minutes.

Then the pilot will come on and tell you that because the flight was 15 minutes late in arriving they've outlasted their 24-hour flying limit and have to rest for the FAA-mandated 8 hours.

    Enjoy JFK. ;D

Well. The flight crew has joined us at the gate. So the 8-hour thing may not be the case. That's not a bad sign, at least.

And with that, my laptop is about to expire.

    Wish me luck.
