The Los Alamos Monitor, a small paper serving an internationally known community, is in need of freelance assistance for a variety of high school athletics. The sports department is one person, covering one high school with very successful teams. Assignments become plentiful as district and state tournaments heat up.

Those interested should have an understanding of most high school sports; the ability to communicate the basics of the event in an accurate and timely manner; and reliable transportation and willingness to travel to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos, etc. as needed.

College students are encouraged to inquire. Please do not inquire if you are currently employed full-time by a newspaper.

Please email a resume, two writing samples and a brief description of your sports experience (playing and/or writing) to lasports@lamonitor.com. Inquiries and questions are welcome.

Come on, it's not Farmington or Roswell! :)

The Sports Editor at Los Alamos is the best.
