Strahan vs. Reporter

I'm not sure I got the whole story here, but apparently, ESPN's NY-based reporter Kelly Naqi got pushed around by Michael Strahan today. She wanted to ask him about some comments he made on NY-WFAN, and asked the question from afar (behind several other reporters).

Before she could ask the question, Strahan told her to "come closer" and look him in the eyes. He repeatedly said to look him in the eyes, and then he ordered the other reporters to sort of clear out so that she could come closer. Strahan said he wanted Naqi to make sure that she was able to get real close to him before she "attacked" him, and then he went on a "the negative media is against us" tirade.

Her question was not intended to be unfair/negative, and NONE of her other questions were either.

What do you guys make of this? Have you ever been involved in a similar situation?

Maybe he was trying to hypnotize her and the rest was a ruse.

She was asking him about comment he made on The Fan about Plaxico Burress giving up on the interception play.

He was pretty agitated. My sense was that he was trying to diffuse a possible controversy.

He should have diffused it by beating the crap out of Plaxico. Did you see the NY Times story today where they had body language experts view the tape and comment on the defeatist look of the Giants?

The woman expert who had never even seen a football game before couldn't believe how he gave up on that play. It was funny.

Bullshit. He was trying to--and succeeded in--making the media the bad guy. It'll be a Giants rallying point: Us against the World. No one believes in us. They all hate us. We have to prove them wrong.

Sure - instead of story being about Strahan and Burress in feud, story is about Strahan taking on the media. Much better for team harmony

Happens all the time in NY.

What a condescending ass. He tries to treat the reporter like a little kid. The fact that he was stuffing his face with food and the spewing it back out as b.s was great though.

Who gives a flying fuck what she looks like? That's not the issue here, although it's not surprising you'd be fixated on what she looks like.
