In fairness to Watkins, he's just following the company line. Seems like he used to have a decent relationship with Isola and the others.

Nah, Isiah could only do that once.

Although I believe in due process, liberty and justice for all, civil liberties, for Isiah Thomas I think there should be a show trial for crimes against basketball.

As unbelievably bad as Isiah has been, it's obvious that the problem goes way, way, way deeper than him. The organization is just rotted from the core. That's what the Observer story is really about. The beat writers' problems just serve to illustrate that the franchise is so poorly run by such utter fools that it doesn't even remember what the goal is anymore. They're less interested in winning games than in making sure Isola doesn't get a private one-on-one interview with Mardy Collins, for chrissake.

. . . fools who feel justified in expecting to have their asses kissed by their paid lackeys, on a constant basis.

It's too bad that the majority of major cable companies could be run by Tony Soprano, and no beat would be missed. Such fixed-slot-machine
yields means these guys aren't going anywhere for a long, long time, unless Stern uncovers some nifty pictures of the thuggee in charge.

And people pay YANKEE DOLLARS to go to these games . . . remarkable.

Barry needs to remember what his job was like when Mike Keenan was making his life miserable.

The guy may well have a family to feed. He at least has a career to consider. He seems like he's following the party line.

    That's exactly what he's doing.

    hockeybeat,

The problem is that is not the big picture so far in the big city...the Knicks first non-sellout just took place their last game and even that drew 17,000+...so as long as the fans keep going I just don't see it changing...

Just looking for a place to put this:

Siena College has closed off access to its players in advance of their big cross-town rivalry with the University of Albany.

I guess it's a New York State of Mind.

As long as the Dolans own MSG and MSG properties, there won't be any change.

If Chucky or Jimmy ever purchase a NFL team, guaranteed their first hire will be Nick Saban.
