    Except that it didn't happen at all, right? The Hayride based the story on an Ole Miss message board posting, and other places linked to or cited The Hayride.

    They're bullies, and the best way to silence a bully is to defeat them decisively.

    This. The idea that they'd think "silence means it's OK" is cluelessness, at least as it pertains to media silence.

    These people feed off of media publicity and attention. That's what sustains them, that's what brings new members and money into their little insane asylum masquerading as a church. They don't care if you hate them. They only care if you're paying attention to them. They don't care if Russell Brand's crowd was booing them, it's just awesome to them that Russell Brand is giving them this wondrous air time.

    People still don't get this?
