When I was a kid I knew him from the "Our Gang" shorts thanks to a local station that aired them daily. When I was slightly older I knew him as Perry White in the Superman films that starred Christopher Reeve.

He was the youngest Academy Award nominee ever for Best Actor in a Leading Role [9 years 20 days old when nominated for his role in Skippy].

I'll believe it when I see a picture of his body.

WHY WON'T THE ADMINISTRATION RELEASE THE PICTURES?!?

I figured he was done after Zod shoved his skull into the ceiling.

Where's the handle Perry White in this time of need?

RIP, good sir. His involvement in "M*A*S*H," "Our Gang" and in "Superman" shouldn't be forgotten.

  7. They had a clip of him - talking about Treasure Island (1934) - the other night on AMC and I wondered if he was still kicking.

Sad news. I'm a big Superman buff, and I've long attributed my desire to be a reporter and hopefully editor (oh how to be 20 and naive) was because I saw Perry White and said, "that's what I want to do."

Of course, I've since learned the reality of the business, and that it's likely I'll never go that far in my career.

Does this leave Robert Blake as the only prominent "Our Gang" cast member who is still living?

    Sirs, Madames,

Did a great turn in Columbo as the senator who takes time out from the campaign for murder. Great expression when caught, eyes closed. Maybe my favorite Columbo ending.

    YHS, etc
