Stoneman out as Angels GM

    Exactly. Lets go back to the days of Fred Haney, Mike Port, and Whitey Herzog.

    It's been a terrible run for Stoneman. 4 playoff appearances in last 6 years and a WS. It was such a glamour franchise before Stoneman came and brought them down.

    Watching on MLB.tv right now, I am very surprised to see Stoneman get so emotional; he just didn't seem that type.

    Hasn't been mentioned, but the new GM is Tony Reagins, who's moving up from director of player personnel. He's also a minority hire, for what that's worth.

    Like others, I grew a little frustrated with Stoneman's inability to make an in-season deal, but the most successful run in franchise history happened under his watch, so you have to give him some credit. As a lifelong Angel fan, he looks a damn site better than Mike Port or either of the two Bavasis.
